Easter Weekend: Home or Away?

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst

– Simon Calder, Travel Editor for the Independent

The recent hoo-har regarding the fuel stoppage has put this coming Easter in a bit of a spin. Those that have decided to flee and enjoy a mini-break are now questioning whether they can even get from A to B. Should we instead start using public transport? God forbid! As this will be heaving, too. Whatever happened to a simple Easter weekend visiting your Grandparents?

Whatever your destination, expect high queues and delay, as the BBC details in their report: Easter Travel Gridlock there may well be fewer staff on task at British airports. Time to call in the Civil Servants, again. Just call ahead and check the situation, seems to be the advice.

But beyond the typical British mayhem, lets not forget what Easter is all about – lots of chocolate as a token of not giving up anything for lent. Amen everyone.

Just call ahead and check the situation
